A nice closeup cel of Kenshin himself. Although not in "normal" colors. I particularly like the glint in his eyes -- and you might think only Liz Taylor has violet eyes ^_^ Take a closer look at Kenshin and, if you are so inclined, here's the sketch. I'm not really looking for more cels of him just because they are so pricey and rather boring. In my opinion, what good is a cel of a samurai without seeing the sword? The next one I will buy, I think, will be an action cel (if that makes sense). I'm always interested in Battousai looking cels or OVA. |

A closeup of Sanosuke. When I saw this cel, I quickly looked to my
tapes and found it immediately. It's from a wonderfully memorable scene
in the Kyoto arc when Sano "comes into his own" as a fighter. I won't say
anymore than that. Like the cel above, this one fits into my theme of "characters
with determined looks." His eyes also glow in this scene and the scan might
not capture that completely. Hope you enjoy him!

Sagara "so I hit the rock like this" Sanosuke makes another appearance in this gallery. He's from the Kyoto arc when he's lost in the woods (ha!) and he finds a mentor who teaches him to smash rocks (Sano smash!). His expression just cracks me up and reminds me of a great line from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Radio program: "And a big hello to all intelligent lifeforms in the universe and to the rest of you, the secret is to bang the rocks together guys." |

Ah! A cel from the Kenshin movie and the most interesting character
in it! This is Gentatsu and the cel takes place within the first couple
minutes of the movie. He's cleaning the blood off his katana and he's about
to encounter Hitokiri Battousai. You can imagine what happens next. I love
the fact I can see his clothes and weapons. I wasn't looking for this cel
in particular but I'm very happy that it fell into my lap.

Keeping with my theme of collecting Kenshin cels of characters in dark lighting, here's Misao aka weasel girl (what's a girl doing in this gallery?) running after Kenshin (I think). It's hard to find a cel of her that she doesn't look weird in so I'm happy to have her. |

Jiya/Okina from the Kyoto arc. I'm not sure if he's teasing his "dear" Misao here or giving Kenshin a fit. You just gotta love the token old lech in any of these anime. Although he is definitely more sympathetic than the usual stereotype. sketch |

Kaoru, sweatdropping. It may be from the infamous firefly scene but somehow I don't think that's it. I'll have to check again. Still managing (except for that pesky Yahiko cel below -- and Sano above but the weird angle counters that) to do the off-colored Kenshin cels. Yahiko? What's he doing here? I thought somebody would have to give me a cel of him. But I couldn't resist this set up and I love the rest of the group behind him. I've also found out that this is an A1 end and the detail is exquisite. They look like they are acting out a Bergman film or an Obsession commercial ^^; sketch |
