They Were 11

Not many people have heard about this movie despite the fact that it was released in the US several years back. Written by early Shoujo pioneer, Hoto Magio, the film is part Shoujo romance, part Twilight Zone, part murder mystery, and part science fiction thriller. People from all over the universe desire to enter an academy that only takes the best of the best. Many enter for different reasons -- some merely to test themselves, some to find a way out of their current dead-end lives on their planets, and some want to help the people on their home planets. Competition is fierce. After the candidates are whittled down to a few hundred, they are further subdivided into small groups of 10 and sent to a derelict spaceship, forced to keep the ship running and avoid various unforeseen problems including how to get along with a group of strangers. But the problem is, there wasn't just 10 on board. They were 11. Who is the eleventh man and what does he want?
The King from They Were 11 here to test his skills by passing the rigorous academy examination. You would think he would be a natural leader, don't you? Some of the 11 think so but others challenge him at every turn. Thanks to the person who sold me this set -- you are the best!
A gift from a friend :) A silly cel of the Fourth. Doesn't he look like  a goober here? Sketch was firmly stuck until I tried the freezer method. Worked pretty well since I forgot about the cel and left it in over night!
Frol and the Fourth. Frol the hotheaded (male? female?) member of the 11 team and the Fourth, the aristocrat content to follow the King's lead, were the first cel I have from this movie.
Group shot of the King, the Fourth, Ganga, and Tada (and a missing blob of something).
We are ready for your close-up, Mr. Tada. Big starry eyed Tada :)
Another cel of Tada. I don't immediately recognize where he's from but it shouldn't be hard to figure out. *NEW*
Frol, armed with ketchup, is from one of the funnier moments in the movie. After the tension has built up to the breaking point, what better way to relax than with a foodfight?
Unfortunately, the King receives the ketchup splatter on his face. He doesn't look too pleased with this turn of events. Thanks to Rinkya for helping me get a nice cel from this obscure movie.
