Some examples of typical scams
What kind of scams are out there?
-
Sellers represent stolen images or cels as their own. This can and has
occurred on Ebay.
-
Sellers may present fan-made or reproduction cels as actual production
cels.
-
Sellers who give out misleading information about the cels (condition,
size, cel sequence, drawings, backgrounds)
-
Sellers who may simply never send the cel once the money is received.
-
Shill bidding -- which means to falsely create a bid war on an auction
site. Bogus bidders are placed by the seller in order to up the price and
to get the maximum amount out of the buyer. For more information about
shill bidding, go here.
